In 2021 we delivered a multi-floor mural installation for artist Lakwena at Nike’s new European headquarters in Kings Cross.
The project introduced a series of large typographic artworks throughout the building, with murals wrapping across walls, glass surfaces and architectural elements across several floors. The works were designed to activate key areas of the workspace including reception, meeting areas, showrooms and open plan circulation spaces.
A central staircase connects three levels of the building, with artwork integrated across the stair structure to visually link the murals throughout the space.
The installation combined painted surfaces with vinyl elements produced by Puck Studio. Our team worked closely alongside them to ensure the artworks aligned seamlessly where painted and vinyl applications met across the architecture.
Because the installation took place during the final stages of the building handover, the project required careful coordination with multiple contractors working on site at the same time. Murals were applied to a range of surfaces including textured interior walls and bespoke wooden locker systems.
At this close interior scale, and particularly when working with a high profile artist, achieving a precise painted finish was essential. The completed installation creates an energetic environment that brings Lakwena’s distinctive visual language into the workplace while reflecting the cultural context of the surrounding London neighbourhood.
