Absolutely Studio produced a large-scale public art mural by artist Alec Doherty in Bermondsey, London using specialist Airlite air-purifying paint.
The mural illustrates a timeline of Bermondsey’s local history and cultural heritage. Visual references within the artwork include the former Peek Freans Biscuit Factory, the Ada Slater Garden, the area’s historic leather industry and connections to Charles Dickens.
The project is notable for being one of the first public artworks in the UK created using Airlite paint technology. When exposed to light, the mineral-based paint helps neutralise airborne pollutants and contributes to improved air quality.
Installed on a prominent wall in Bermondsey, the mural demonstrates how public art can combine cultural storytelling with environmentally conscious materials.
