We produced a series of hand painted wall graphics for the Patagonia store in Manchester, translating artwork by illustrator Matthew Bridge onto reclaimed ceramic tiles across the building’s central stairwell.
The artwork forms a large painted map highlighting outdoor locations across the north of England, including the Peak District and Lake District. The graphic connects the store interior with the landscapes and activities central to Patagonia’s community.
The map spans the full height of the stairwell across three floors, applied directly onto tiles salvaged from a former police station. Painting onto this reclaimed surface required careful preparation and layout planning to make sure the artwork aligned accurately across the tiled grid, without any integral elements landing within the grouted areas.
In addition to the interior installation, we also produced a hand painted out-of-home mural to support the opening of the store.
The project was delivered in collaboration with High Rise Murals, translating the illustrated design into a durable painted installation integrated within the architecture of the space.
