Absolutely Studio produced a large interior mural for the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in Bloomsbury. The artwork by Darren John sits in the reception area of the School’s newly redeveloped Tavistock Place building and provides a bold visual introduction for visitors arriving at the space.
The mural, titled What if., draws on LSHTM’s history in global health research and education. Using Darren’s abstract visual language, the work combines colour, geometry and layered forms to create movement and visual energy across the large interior wall. The colour palette references the School’s brand guidelines but has been reinterpreted to feel brighter and more dynamic within the architectural setting.
Installation took place during the final stages of construction while multiple trades were working across the site. Absolutely Studio coordinated preparation, scaling and installation to ensure a precise geometric finish within the programme.
The mural was painted using highly pigmented Bristol Paints to achieve strong colour density and clean edges across the surface.
